Breaking the Boundaries of Halo 3

Welcome happy travelers to Breaking Boundaries, my homage to Bungie and Halo 3.

Here you will find my personal collection of screen shots and panoramas from both the Campaign and Mulitplayer realms.

To your right are a series of links, each will take you to specific sections of the Halo 3 story as well as specific Multiplayer arenas. Pages will be updated as new pictures are taken and as new panoramas are created.

I would like to note that all non-panoramic screenshots are completely untouched and are currently linked to haloscreenshots.net until I can back them up myself. Many thanks to Louis Wu!

The following pages currently have content: The Storm, Floodgate, The Ark, The Covenant, Cortana, Halo, Avalanche, Cold Storage, Construct, Epitaph, Ghost Town, Guardian, Isolation, Rat’s Nest, Snowbound, and Valhalla. I will update the rest as soon as I can.

Thank you,

mendicantbias00

  1. wow i am truly impressed by your panoramas. keep it up! i do have one question. the large panoramas on construct and cold storage how did you make that effect on photoshop. i have been really trying to do that with my photos( not halo related) but i would try some of my panoramas. if you want you can check out some of my pics that eventually were made into panoramas. my GT is : MGC Halo Legand. thank you.

Thanks! If you are talking about the “warping” or “bending” effect in the Construct “tower” and Cold Storage “tube” depending on the settings you use and the software it will actually do that on its own. I do not have photoshop, so I use Gimp and Autostitch (http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html). I hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions.

  3. Thanks a lot! it really helped. i knew about the warping effect, but my question was more for the filter you used that made the pictures look more like a comic type but i will definitely try these programs in hopes of finding that filter. sorry if i did not mention it earlier :)

  4. mendicantbias00 Says:

Oh…I used no filters. Other than “The Ark” panorama, there were no filters used on any of my screen shots or panoramas, they are all as is from the game…. I guess I am just that good. ;)

  5. hey there mendicantbias, i have been looking over you pictures for the last few posts or so and i really like your work. i’ve decided to start my own panoramas and linking them to my blog. i just wanted you to know that you’re doing a great job!

oh, and i d/l’d your film from Sierra-117 that was on you’re fileshare and took a number of shots just to try it out and i uploaded them to my blog already, if that’s ok i mean. i did use your film to take my shots…

    my blog url is http://clevelandkyle.wordpress.com/
there’s a link to my screenshots on the right. i just started blogging and taking these Hi-Res shots so it’s still kinda naked :-)

Hi there Light Show! Thank you very much, its been a labor of love, but its been worth it. Every time I think I will run out of things to take pictures of, I find something new!

Actually that film clip isn’t mine, it is actually 4 Halo.Bungie.Org members who managed to get out of the map. I asked them to use it to get a Kilimanjaro panorama. :)

I bookmarked your blog so expect to see me around there.

  7. oh, ok. well, i guess it alright to put them up then. :-)

the only reason i have a blog is because it is an introduction to theater class assignment so there’s going to be some theater related shit in there. but i hope to keep it regularly up to date and get some good content on there.

  8. mendicantbias00 Says:

Ahh ok, I never heard of a Theatre class requiring a blog before. My girlfriend was pretty heavy into theatre in both highschool and college, she had a lot of fun so hopefully you will to!

  9. yeah our teacher is pretty young and up to date on technology so pretty much all of our graded work is online and in the blog. it’s pretty neat i guess. it’s only and intro to theater so we’re not doin a whole lot of acting or anything. the teacher’s cool so it should be a good time!

Young teachers can be a lot of fun, more so in HS i think than college. In HS they are obviously at least 7-10 years older, but they treat you more like an adult and have a fresh view on things. In college…well since the age gap is smaller they often feel like they have to be harder…not all of them mind you, but most.

    =)

  11. yeah i agree. but as a kid, typically you’re more easily amused than when you get into college so i think teachers may not try as hard. but this teacher was obviously in drama in hs. so he’s really animated and funny. we only meet once a week though, figures. all the cool teachers you see the least of… :-/
